(makes 1 carats look like a 1.5+, 1.5 carat a 2 carat+). Halo easily adds another 2mm-3mm to your rock without having to pay thousands more for a higher carat. In 15 years there will probably be a bunch of people calling this style boring, outdated, ugly lol. Out of all the Cs, size/carat is the most visible of them all. While there are tons of jewelry options and alternative engagement rings around, the main trend right now seems to be very large (1.5c+) RB, OB or emerald-cut stones (diamond or moissanite) on plain yellow gold, extremely thin (<2mm) bands. I like the comfort and ease of wear of not having any little stones on the rings I wear every day and don’t like taking off constantly- I have a pretty rough lifestyle. The Xalanyn, 2 also known as the Endless, 3 was an advanced race, whose members were imprisoned by the Forerunners on Installation 07 by 97,368 BCE due to their ability to survive the effects of the Halo Array. I like many halos but for my engagement ring I chose a super simple RB solitaire with no side stones or pave. So people like to crap on them at the moment, even though they are an enduring classic (I love antique jewelry and I’ve seen a lot of halo diamond rings dating back to the Georgian era 1714-1847), and there are many many styles of halo that can look very different from each other. Halo engagement rings trended heavily for quite a large chunk of the last 20 years, now they are not so trendy. Which is great IMO, but some people tend to be negative about anything they can label as ‘dated’. Jewelry and in particular engagement rings are HEAVILY influenced by trends and the time period.
